Time for about $2000 to put my car back to how it was when I woke up. Yay!

Spirited driving around that corner you see in the background. Someone was coming the other way so I went to the side a bit to give them room when my towns lovely sandy-ass roads reared their ugly head and I spun out. The curb stopped me enough that I just love tapped the pole. Annoying because if the pole wasn’t there I would just need wheels, control arms, and tie rods. Now I need a door, fender repaired, and fucking paint. Happy birthday to me.

Seriously. Look at how far it is to the next light pole. If I was off by a few feet, or that guy hadn’t been driving in the center of a road that has no fucking double-yellows, or if the city knew what a “street sweeper” was and used it, or if I had tried to countersteer and power out of it... any of that could have meant I’m just out some suspension bits and not suspension, a fucking door, trying to re-form a fender, and then a bunch of paint.

It’s actually my only car. I’m going to have to ask my dad if I can borrow the Murdersofa back so I can get to work this week. Hopefully I can have it looked at by someone with a lift tomorrow and we can see what all I need other than new wheels and a tie rod.

My problem is a mental tic that doesn’t let me have anything in-between. Either a car is flawless (or close to being with that goal in mind) or it’s a total unabashed shitpile with a bullbar welded on and steelies+T/A tires because why not. Anything inbetween that just drives me utterly bonkers. I was actually going to pay a guy $50 this week to pop out a small dent on my rear fender because it was the only dent in the whole damn car other than some waves on the hood.

I guess we won’t call it typical driver complaining when they say it’s slippery in Abu Dhabi! Sorry it caught you out, I guess the city isn’t responsible, unless a bunch of sand was spilled there. My friend damaged his car on a huge pothole and they had to pay him, that’s a lot easier to prove.
